Suchi Mukherjee founded LimeRoad in 2012. Lime Road is a social e-commerce website & application that helps women share and sell clothes. Suchi Mukherjee, when thought of LimeRoad, had a lot of experience. She has an Economics Degree from Cambridge and Master’s in Economics and Finance from London. She was part of the early team building out the UK business for eBay, an executive management team member at Skype, and a managing director at Gumtree.
2. Mobikwik
Women spend a lot of money but they save much more. Their strategy of savings may be difficult but it has always proven to be beneficial. One such wallet was co-founded by Upasana Taku. Mobikwik is a fintech startup. It is a virtual wallet tied to a huge network of companies and services.
With Mobikwik, one can easily pay or recharge at registered places and they may earn cash back, which is called Super Cash. She previously worked for HSBC (San Diego) and PayPal (an eBay company) in Silicon Valley and has a strong fintech background. She graduated from NIT Jalandhar with a bachelor’s degree in engineering and Stanford University with a master’s degree in management science.
3. V Resorts
Aditi Balbir owns and operates V Resorts, which offers holidays that showcase real India.
Graduate of ISB (Hyderabad) and the Fuqua School of Duke University, Aditi started her career in finance before establishing V Resorts. V Resorts was her first venture outside of finance in 2014. In two successive rounds, she received $ 9 million in funding from Bedrock Ventures, Seedfund, and RB Investments. Since building the company from the ground up, she has curated, developed, and managed unique resort properties across India.
She received the Young Women Business award by CNBC TV 18 in 2017, Exceptional Women of Excellence by the Women Economic Forum in 2017, Fortune 100 Most Powerful Women Asia 2017, and Dell Foundation’s 200 most powerful women entrepreneurs in the world in 2016.
4. Doccttocare
In India, doctors are given a lot of importance. But often finding a good doctor is stressful. So, Sugandha Agarwal took the initiative to solve this problem forever. Docttocare is an online healthcare platform that recommends doctors, clinics, hospitals, and diagnostic laboratories based on their reviews and ratings. Furthermore, Docttocare offers virtual tours of hospitals and their facilities.
Sugandha has worked with companies like Infosys, Oracle, and Google Maps before founding Docttocare. Sugandha is an electrical & communication engineer by qualification. She manages a team of 15 people who make Docttocare better everyday.
5. Your Story
It really feels good to have a great story, but what’s better is someone who wishes to spread your story and let other people know about it. Shradha worked for prestigious media houses such as the Times of India and CNBC in Mumbai at the peak of her career. It was during this time that she encountered many entrepreneurs and learned how they achieved success. However, several channels rejected her idea to highlight these entrepreneurs. Despite there being millions of stories storming around, there was no platform to cover them.
In order to provide a platform for such stories, she decided to create an online portal. Currently, YourStory has over 70,000 stories on its website. In addition to leading a team of 100+ people, Shradha provides content in 11 different languages.
